IF YOU ARE A LAWYER IN GENERAL PRACTICE, SOLE PRACTITIONER, FAMILY LAW SPECIALIST, BARRISTER, PA OR A PARALEGAL WORKING IN FAMILY LAW, THIS IS ABOUT YOU!

Since the launch of The Family Law Book in April 2009 hundreds of lawyers throughout Australia have been enjoying the fast efficiency of its loose-leaf service. In November 2010 our service went electronic, as an E Book, offering immediate access to everyone wherever they are - in the office, at home or on the train - without having to wait for the loose-leaf to become available.

Here is a sample of what some of your colleagues said of their experiences with family law when they were surveyed by us in 2007. Any of the following sound familiar to you?

"I have been sending my family law away and wondering why."

"There are too many law changes and stupid procedural things. It should be simple."

"You're kidding. I do 50% family law but it takes 75% of my time. Something like this would be brilliant."

"We're interested. We are 90% family law. The court site gives the whole case, so a case extract would be useful, as would a summary of leading cases. I'd like to see procedures. And super split info put simply."

"Anything that's concise and makes our job easier, we're interested."

"Family law is 40% of our practice. Anything you can do to simplify family law would be welcome, it's a great idea."

"Keeping up is a challenge. This would be of interest – a succinct statement of up to date law, in a handbook I could use in meetings."

"We are 100% family law. Sounds good…I like the idea of a compact single volume."

"We employ a family lawyer. We would definitely be interested. I like the idea of it being streamlined."

"Yes, especially if it's practical. I have X but it's basic. And Y but it's academic, written for barristers eg on superannuation, it gives comment but no precedent orders, and its index is dreadful."

"I don't like children's issues and would be interested in something that made that easier. I would also like some guidance on how to estimate a client's property settlement entitlement."

“I got out of F/L but if the price were right, a work like this would enable me to advise & negotiate F/L matters.”

“That’ll be impressive…we have X online but procedure is not there.  Also, I don’t need half the Act.”
